Rob is hosting the first meeting in our Arrell Future of Food Discovery Programme on Synthetic Biology and Programmable Plants in Edinburgh. The workshop will assemble synthetic biologists, plant scientists, historians, social scientists and breeders to understand place-based definitions of sustainability and participatory priority setting in agriculture.

Joana joined field visits with Wageningen and Eindhoven universities that became the documentary Plants and Power, launched at Dutch Design Week. More about the project.

Rob co-organised a meeting on Programmable Plants for Sustainable Agriculture as part of the CIFAR Arrell Future of Food Initiative.

Rob and Joana gave a seminar on varieties booklets as technologies for responsible innovation to the Knowledge, Innovation, Technologies group at Wageningen University.

Joana and Rob hosted plant scientists, social scientists, breeders and artists in a 2 day workshop to explore the connections between lab and field in the synthetic plants programme.
